Group art piece
This project was for the whole group to come up with the representation of our disease along with prevention strategies incorporated into the painting. This amazing piece of artwork was done by none other than Reece Freeman. The design was a collaborative effort. We struggled with coming up with an idea for this. We did not want to go the basic way of just saying no smoking. Everyone knows smoking is bad for the heart. So we came up with the idea to put weapons in the heart to really represent the damage being done to the heart. We went through multiple drafts, where the left side of the heart is completely black, and the other side was bright red. But when we put it into photoshop it did not turn out nearly as well as I thought it would. So Reece did multiple drafts on paper and made smoke coming out of the heart, which I loved. Then I thought of putting a cigarette butt and an ash tray under the heart to emphasize that smoking is horrible for the heart.
